Escape Rooms are games designed around a theme or storyline. A team will be challenged with puzzles, riddles, and codes using communication and teamwork to escape the room in one hour.

Interestingly, anyone! Escape rooms are not just for gamers, in fact, they're more popular with those who aren’t. Be it those on a first date who want to break the ice, a fun family activity to do with the kids, team-building for businesses, a friends night out or students seeking a fun challenge.

Yes, our sandstone cave is real, although you won't need to wear a hard hat or anything like that.

Don’t worry. We never lock the door.

Yes, you are on camera at all times within our games.

No. We take utmost care in creating exciting but safe environments for all. Additionally, our supervisory and management staff are first-aid trained and on-hand during the game should any player require their assistance.

Our games are not designed with the fear factor in mind but you may experience low lighting, special effects, and a few surprises along the way. You could find yourself in some relatively small spaces and you will be underground. If you have any questions or concerns, do give us a call and we'll be happy to chat with you through the specifics.

We are situated in the heart of the City of Nottingham. We are close to local and national bus routes, our address is 63 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG1 3FN.

We don’t have any parking on site. However, there is pay and display street parking along Mansfield Road and also the Victoria Shopping Centre's multi-story carpark is located just across the road.

Yes. All games must be pre-booked.

Each of our rooms is suitable for teams of different sizes. Carfax 2-6 players, PROJECT ICEMAN 2-5 players an Monuments 3-6 players.

Whilst we love dogs unfortunately not as the caves are not really suitable for dogs.. Only Assistance Dogs are permitted.

You may only bring an extra person on the day if the maximum number of players that the room you have booked holds has not been reached. Additional players must be paid for by card upon arrival.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booked slot for your team briefing. Entry will not be permitted before this time.

You may take your mobile phone in the game with you but no photography of any kind is permitted inside any of our rooms. We welcome you to use your phone or camera in the reception area.

We provide lockers that can be used during your game. Please note that leaving personal belongings in the lockers is done so at your own risk.

Nottingham's Caves are formed from Sandstone so we'd recommend that you wear clothing that is comfortable and which you don't mind getting a little dusty. Decent footwear is a must - trainers, boots, and sturdy shoes are fine but no heels, sandals, etc. The average temperature in our rooms in summer is 18-21 Degrees Celsius and in winter 15-18 Degrees, so you may want to bring a jumper although it soon warms up as your team zooms into action!

Customers playing MONUMENTS **MUST** wear sturdy, flat-soled footwear due to the uneven cave floor in the game. This is to minimise the risk of trips, falls and other related injuries. This requirement is also reiterated in the booking confirmation sent from Cave Escape to the lead member of the group upon booking. Any person wearing high heeled, platform, wedge or stiletto shoes will not be permitted to enter MONUMENTS unless the player(s) borrow(s) a pair of pumps from Cave Escape. We have a selection of sizes and these are regularly deodorised with a specialist antibacterial footwear spray.

Escape rooms are about having fun. You do have two paths. One – we can tell you how far you had to go and what was left. Two – you can decide you want it to remain mysterious and come back and play again. Yes…people do play again.

We recommend 8yrs+ for CARFAX and PROJECT ICEMAN and 12yrs+ for MONUMENTS as our games are designed for adult teams. We have, however, had younger children play as part of family groups who have had a great time. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult of 18 years and over (this is compulsory for our fire safety procedures). Children are priced at the same rate as adults. Unfortunately, our rooms are not suitable for babies, small children, or kids Birthday parties.

Due to the location of our rooms being in a cave, the site is unsuitable for disabled guests who have mobility issues.

Due to the nature of some of our games we ask you to give us a call so we can talk you through what to expect. You can then decide for yourself or contact your GP/midwife for advice.

We have a mens urinal and a unisex toilet for our guests.

We have soft drinks and water available.

We have given each of our games a difficulty rating out of 5. Look at the game page of our website for details.

Always be aware of your surroundings and have a good search. Puzzles and the rooms may not be as they first seem. It is also very important to make sure you communicate with your team mates. Those who do, progress much quicker.
